Straphangers will have a chance to travel back in time in transit next month.

Each Sunday in December, the New York Transit Museum’s 1930s-era R1/9 train cars will run between select stops along the F and Q lines in Manhattan.

The annual “Holiday Nostalgia Rides” serve as “a charming reminder of New York City’s transit history,” the museum said on its website.

First introduced along the Eighth Avenue line — now the A, C and E line — in 1932, R1/9s were taken out of service in 1977, the website said.

“Featuring rattan seats, paddle ceiling fans, incandescent light bulbs, roll signs, and period advertisements, the R1/9s are the cars that inspired Billy Strayhorn’s iconic ‘Take the A Train,’” the website noted.

The “Holiday Nostalgia Train” will run between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Dec. 1, Dec. 8, Dec. 15, Dec. 22 and Dec. 29.
