A city firefighter has published an eyewitness account of the September 11th terror attacks that seeks to clear the names of some fellow first responders.
"Finding John" is a first-hand account by Andrew Serra of the devastation caused by the World Trade Center collapse and the rescue efforts that followed.
The book detail's his experience finding the remains of a fellow firefighter who was part of a group of FDNY members accused of looting before the Twin Towers fell.
"There were witnesses, there were people that they saved who survived, and just a ton of evidence that they were heroic up until the last second of their lives. I felt their story really needed to get out there," Serra said.
All proceeds from the book sales are expected to go to the Ray Pfeifer Foundation and The FealGood Foundation, two organizations dedicated to helping first responders who are suffering from 9/11-related illnesses.
