Greenwich Village is getting decked out for this weekend's Pride March.
The city Department of Transportation painted a rainbow crosswalk Thursday night.
The colorful walkway at Christopher Street and Seventh Avenue is just outside of the historic Stonewall Inn, a gay rights landmark.
"We can't believe we've lived to see an official rainbow crosswalk," said one onlooker.
"It's amazing. It show shows the character of the city, the character of New York. It's that we're accepting and that we're progressive. New York, everyone is in it together. Love it," said another onlooker.
This is the second time the crosswalk has been painted.
Heritage of Pride helped fund the initiative.
