It's that time of year again where you may have noticed your first mosquito bites of the season.
The New York City Department of Health starts its annual battle with the pests Tuesday.
As part of its mosquito control program, the health department began aerial spraying for mosquitoes in non-residential areas of Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx.
The spraying will continue tomorrow and Thursday.
The spraying starts at 6 a.m. and then again at 7 p.m. weather permitting.
The Health Department monitors mosquitoes that carry the West Nile virus.
No human cases of West Nile virus have been reported so far this season.
