It could be years before taxi medallions go up for sale again.

Yellow cabs have had a hard time keeping up with ride share services like Uber and Lyft, and so the value of medallions is plummeting.

They once went for as much as a million dollars, this year they have been selling for less than $200,000.

The mayor's executive budget assumes no cash will come from medallion sales for the next five years.
