It's a staple of the New York food scene. Soon, it will have its own museum.
A pop-up museum dedicated to pizza is coming to New York City this fall for two weeks.
According to the museum's website, the pop-up pizza museum will be a "space to bask in multi-sensory, psychadelic pizza joy."
The website says the museum is "set to include" a pizza "cave," a pizza "beach," pizza "games" and an interactive exhibit on the history of pizza, among other exhibits. (No word on whether there will be a tribute to Chicago deep dish.)
According to the website, the museum was created by Nameless Network, a "Brooklyn-based youth media network."
Tickets are already available for the museum, which is not scheduled to open until October 13. The ticket website says the location is currently a secret.
The ticket website says museumgoers will be entitled to a free slice of pizza "at or outside the venue."
