A 71-year-old man was killed Sunday morning due to a fire in Manhattan, according to the city fire department.

It happened at a six-story apartment building on East 7th St. near Avenue C in the East Village around 6:08 a.m.

The fire department said Barry Allen, who lived in the building, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other people were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, officials said.

The fire was under control by 7:02 a.m.

The Fire Marshal will determine the cause of the fire.
