Some Roosevelt Island residents are blasting the island's private security force over a recent series of public lewdness incidents.
They gathered Sunday outside the offices of the island's Public Safety Department to demand action.
Three recent public lewdness cases have been reported on the island since August of last year.
But protesters say there have been at least two more cases, and accuse the public safety department of supressing crime data.
"They want to make sure that Roosevelt Island is this Picture Perfect place to live but, in the meantime, we aren't getting the police protection we need here in this community," said Joyce Short, a rally organizer.
NY1 has reached out to the Public Safety Department.
