The city is expanding its homeless outreach efforts, from two to seven days a week, in part of Manhattan.
Officials are also adding more beds to help house those who come in from the cold.
The Department of Homeless Services and the NYPD are working together, focusing heavily on the Midtown area.
City officials say the extra bed capacity brings their bed count to 1,500 beds and will help save lives, especially on bitter cold days like these.
