At least one person was injured Friday evening in a two-alarm fire in the East Village.

The fire broke out around 9:30 pm on East 3rd Street between 1st and 2nd avenues.

The Fire Department says it started in a shaft on the third floor of a five-story building.

It took a little more than an hour to get it under control.

The injury is not life-threatening.
