A local program will continue to provide fresh produce to New Yorkers living in underserved communities.
Grow NYC and the City's Economic Development Corporation announced Tuesday they're going to continue the Fresh Food Box program through the winter.
For $15, anyone can buy fresh, healthy, primarily regionally-grown produce. That's about half the price they would pay at a grocery store.
Participants can pick up their box weekly at delivery sites throughout the city, including the Brooklyn Army Terminal.
"Eating healthy and eating locally sourced produce is something that I think a lot of people aspire to do but when its brought to you it just feels like a treat," said Participant Tanya Castin.
