NEW YORK - Long-time New York City anchor Michele Marsh has lost her battle with breast cancer.

Marsh died Wednesday at her home in South Kent, Connecticut. 

Marsh started anchoring at New York's CBS affiliate in 1979 at the age of 25. 

She spent 17 years there, sharing the desk with the likes of Jim Jensen, Ernie Anastos and John Johnson.  

Marsh later went on to anchor at New York's NBC affiliate before leaving in 2003.

She was 63-years-old.

She is survived by her husband, son and daughter-in-law.
