As Tropical Storm Harvey tapers off in Texas rescue, relief efforts continue for the thousands affected by the damaging storm.
Here in New York City, local efforts to provide supplies and monetary donations are fully underway.

Items needed for victims include nonperishable food, water, baby food, diapers, flashlights and batteries, hygiene products and cleaning supplies.

DONATING TO RED CROSS VIA TEXT
The Red Cross is asking for monetary donations to purchase what they need for families in their shelters, and, of course, volunteers. The organization is urging people to make a minimum donation of $10 by calling 1-800-RED CROSS or texting HARVEY to 90999.
