Investigators are trying to figure out what caused a construction worker to fall to his death in Brooklyn on Sunday.
"He was on the side, someone turned him on his back, and from that I could see he was bleeding from his ears, his nose, his mouth, and gasping for breath," one witness said.
It happened at an apartment building near the corner of Nostrand Ave. and Linden Boulevard around 12:47 p.m.
Authorities said a 58-year old man fell about three stories from a scaffolding.
"He was on the scaffolding, and I heard a loud noise, and next thing I know I saw him on the ground," a witness said.
The construction worker was rushed to a local hospital, where he died.
The city buildings department and police department are looking into the incident.
Workers had been painting near the top of the building for about a week, according to witnesses.
Police said they do not suspect any criminality.
