L train riders will be getting a brief taste of the line's 2019 shutdown this weekend.
From 11:30 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday, L trains will be suspended between Broadway Junction in Brooklyn and Eighth Avenue in Manhattan.
The A, F, J and M trains provide alternate service between Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Riders can also take the M14 in Manhattan, and free shuttle buses in Brooklyn.
The L train will still run between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway in Brooklyn.
The MTA says crews will be preparing for major repairs to the Canarsie Tunnel that will cause a similar shutdown for 15 months starting in 2019.
