NEW YORK - Police in Manhattan are are looking for the person who tried to shoot a 12-year-old boy Tuesday.

The incident happened just after 2 p.m. on Columbus Avenue between 105th and 106th streets on the Upper West Side.

Police say the boy was inside a barbershop at the time.

They say a man opened fire after the two exchanged words. 

The shot broke the store's glass window, but did not hit anybody.

The man then fled the scene on foot.

He was last seen wearing a black shirt and blue shorts.
