Staten Islanders are preparing for a major storm.
Heavy snow and strong winds is expected Tuesday with accumulation of 15 to 24 inches.
That's why shoppers in Travis spent their Sunday stocking up on bottled water, bread, milk and eggs.
Employees at the Top Tomato Superstore on Victory Boulevard say Sunday was the busiest they have seen the store in years.
"We were pretty well staffed and scheduled. We got extra bread, extra milk in advance for this," said Stephen Sciandra with Top Tomato.
"We already have the milk and the bread the usual stuff but you know some fruit some healthy stuff to have around so we don't eat all the chocolate and candy in the house," said one shopper.
"We got a lot of meat and stuff and soup so we're ready to go," said another.
Employees at Top Tomato say they made extra orders to make sure their shelves stay fully stocked with the essentials through the storm.
