NEW YORK - Some creepy crawlers will one day take over the Upper West Side.
The American Museum of Natural History this week unveiled plans to open a new 5,000 square foot bug gallery.
The insectarium will feature live insects, collections of specimens and interactive laboratory tools like microscopes.
The museum is also building a new year-round live butterfly conservatory.
It will feature learning labs for students, along with a research library.
The museum says it’s the first gallery specifically dedicated to insects in more than 50 years.
It’s part of the Gilder Center $340 million expansion which is set to be completed by 2020.
