Times Square's new look is ready just in time for New Year's Eve.

Officials say a seven-year, $55 million re-construction project has been completed.

Some of the changes you'll notice are wider sidewalks and more modern street and traffic lights.

There's also a new raised bike lane on 7th Avenue.

It's part of a goal to eliminate vehicle traffic along Broadway between West 42nd and West 47th Streets and to improve pedestrian flow.

"The old way this set of roads intersected was not particularly good for traffic, it was confusing and slow and this has actually improved traffic flow, given us a wonderful protected bike lane, opened up all kinds of space for pedestrians."

Earlier this year, the city also began enforcing new regulations designed to improve foot traffic and cut back on aggressive solicitors.
