Time is running out for the deer that was living inside a Harlem park.
The city plans to euthanize the buck Friday after police captured it inside Jackie Robinson Park.
The decision comes after Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office stepped in and offered to relocate the deer.
But a spokesperson for Mayor Bill de Blasio said the state initially supported euthanasia before changing its position.
She also cited the state's own website, which says permits are not issued to relocate deer to the wild because the chances of survival are poor.
The deer had been roaming inside the park for several days.
White-tailed deer in Manhattan are extremely rare, and it's not clear where this deer came from. One possibility is that it crossed a bridge or swam across the Harlem or East rivers from the Bronx.
