NEW YORK - Chronic pain is now a qualifying condition for the state's medical marijuana program.
However, state health officials say you will still need to meet specific requirements.
Currently there are 11 conditions that can be treated under the program including Cancer, HIV, AIDS and Parkinson's Disease.
The new addition is subject to a 45 day public comment period.
There are two medical mariuana dispensaries currently open here in the city - one in Manhattan and one in the Bronx.
