Making history, the city is offering housing to residents with HIV or AIDS for the first time, through the Gay Men’s Health Crisis organization.
The agency has taken over a contract with 25 units of housing throughout Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx.
The pilot program offers residents supportive service programs including legal aid, employment training and case management.
The non-profit says having stable housing helps people get appropriate medical care.
There are nearly 10,000 people in the city living with HIV or AIDS.
