A 10-year-old boy is recovering after being hit by an ambulance in Brooklyn.
It happened just after 2:30 Friday afternoon at the corner of Blake and Howard Avenues in Brownsville.
Police say the ambulance was going east on Howard when it hit the boy, who stepped between two cars.
Residents tell us it is a dangerous intersection.
"I'm scared to cross Howard Avenue those cars are crazy," one neighbor said. "All this intersection here, no it's not safe at all."
"They just drive crazy," said another neighbor. "They just running. The little kid coming across the street and they have no sirens or nothing they just hit this little boy out here, sneakers, coming from school. And I just feel bad because I got kids, you understand, I wouldn't want that to happen to mine."
The boy was taken to the hospital in serious, but stable condition.
The ambulance driver was not ticketed.
This happened just hours after an eight-month-old boy was struck and killed by a van backing out of a commercial driveway in East Elmhurst, Queens.
That driver is charged with driving without a license.
