It's a new record for the Staten Island Ferry.
The Mayor's office says just over 23 million people rode the boats between July 2015 and this past June.
That's an increase of about 5 percent from the year before and about 800,000 more than the previous record set in 2012.
The rise is being attributed to an increase in service put into place last year.
Boats now run at least every half hour around the clock.
The free ferry runs between Saint George and Lower Manhattan.
