Several streets were blocked off in Midtown on Wednesday night after an object was thrown into a police car, according to the NYPD.
According to police, the object was a battery-operated candle wrapped in a t-shirt.
NYPD bomb squad was called in and eventually determined that the object was not a threat.
Police said a car seen fleeing the scene was stopped at Madison Avenue and 57th Street, and its driver was taken into custody. However, police later said that driver was not the suspect and was released.
The investigation is ongoing.
