A new analysis of U.S. Customs wait times released Monday by the Global Gateway Alliance found that Kennedy Airport has the longest wait times among the 10 busiest international U.S. airports in 2015.
GGA says it took about 25 minutes for an average passenger to clear Customs at JFK. That’s about double compared to Washington Dulles, which had the shortest wait times.
The analysis found that wait times at Newark Airport actually improved last year, dropping from 20 minutes in 2014 to 18 minutes in 2015.
In its report, GGA recommends that Customs and Border Protection add more Automated Passport Control kiosks, boost staffing and eliminate paper forms to reduce wait times.
