Update: Police arrested taxi driver they say ran down 44-year-old Kenya Flores
68-year-old John Bangura was charged Sunday morning with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
Police have identified the victim of a hit-and-run crash in Manhattan, but they are still searching for the taxi driver who hit her.
It happened just after 3:30 a.m. Saturday on First Avenue between 16th and 17th streets in Gramercy Park.
The NYPD says 44-year-old Kenya Flores was lying on the street when she was struck by a yellow cab that kept on going.
It is not clear at this point why she was on the ground.
Flores was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
