A Brooklyn man was arrested early Monday morning for allegedly slashing another man who woke him up while sleeping on the G train.
The NYPD says 54-year-old Anthony Purdie and the 33-year-old victim got into an argument after the victim woke Purdie shortly before 3 a.m.
Investigators say the two men continued to fight after getting off the train at Classon Avenue. Police say Purdie eventually pulled out a box cutter and cut the victim’s nose.
According to police, Purdie then showed up at the 88th Precinct and told officers that the victim was trying to rob him. However, police say the victim walked in behind him and told officers that he was slashed.
Purdie is charged with second-degree assault and second-degree menacing.
