The New York City Police Department is still trying to figure out whether the bullet that hit a city police officer over the weekend in Brooklyn was a case of friendly fire.
Officer William Reddin, 33, was shot in the hip during a shootout with 34-year old Frederick Funes on Saturday in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
Investigators are working to determine if the bullet that hit Reddin was fired by Funes or by a fellow officer.
Reddin is still recovering in the hospital.
Officer Andrew Yurkiw, 29, was hit in his bulletproof vest.
Police say that bullet was fired by Funes.
Yurkiw was released from the hospital Sunday.
Funes was struck multiple times and remains in critical condition.
