A train car that was parked beneath the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 will go on display at the Shore Line Trolley Museum this fall.
PATH car 745 was sent to the World Trade Center that morning to pick up passengers, but was abandoned in the tunnel once evacuation began. It managed to survive the tragedy intact.
The car is one of two excavated from the cast iron tunnel.
Since 2001, it has been stored in a hangar at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
It was supposed to be included at the 9/11 Memorial Museum but was too big for the space.
The museum will welcome the car with a bagpipe parade and police and fire detail.
The exhibit is expected to become permanent in 2016.
