Four CUNY schools have been listed as some of the highest performing and most affordable schools in the Northeast.

Governor Andrew Cuomo says Baruch College, Lehman College, Queens College, and John Jay College of Criminal Justice were all ranked in the top five of Washington Monthly's list of "Best Bang For The Buck" four-year schools in the Northeast.

According to Washington Monthly, the schools were evaluated on three categories: social mobility, research, and service.

Baruch came in first place, while Lehman, John Jay and Queens College ranked third to fifth respectively.

In a statement, Cuomo says: "New York has a long and proud tradition of providing a high quality, affordable education through our public colleges and universities. This latest ranking further emphasizes the value of earning a degree right here in New York and I am proud of these CUNY campuses and this well-deserved recognition.
