The family of a Richmond Hill teen involved in a hit and run accident is appealing to the public for information that may help identify the driver or vehicle that struck their son.
Timothy Punarjit was struck Friday, August 7 at approximately 10:35 p.m. while crossing the North Side of the Van Wyck Service Road at Rockaway Boulevard.
According to police a dark colored sedan hit the teen and did not stop.
The family is offering a $2,500 reward in addition to the $2,500 reward being offered by police.
The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital and treated for his injuries.
“I have contacted the State Senate office, Senator Sanders. I have also reached out to the local businesses in the community,” said Punarjit’s father, Vishnu Mahadeo. “I have also gone to the Guyanese community where they have their reunions and I'm working that to get as much information so we can identify who this person is.”
