With American Pharaoh in position to take the triple crown, some transportation and security changes are being put in place ahead of the Belmont Stakes.
Officials say they want to avoid the mess that left thousands of racing fans stranded at Belmont last year.
A new public address system is being installed at Belmont Park to improve communications with riders, unlike the bull horn that was used in 2014.
The MTA is also spending $4 million on two new platforms at the Long Island Railroad station, to allow for longer trains.
"At the conclusion of the stakes race we will forget a schedule, we will go on what we call a load and go situation, we will load people as fast as we can it will be much quicker with a high level platform be much quicker with a high level platform so nobody will have to climb stairs or any of that type of stuff. So we will be able to lad and go we will be able to have the people on the platform as the trains arrive," said LIRR President Patrick Nowakowski.
Almost 100,000 people attended last year's Belmont Stakes.
This year, the New York Racing Authority has capped attendance at 90,000.
