The Thanksgiving holiday is shaping up to be a record-breaking week for travel.

The Transportation Security Administration estimates more than 18 million people will pass through airport security between the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and the following Monday.

The busiest days are expected to be Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Sunday after the holiday.

AAA projects a record 71.7 million people will travel by car during the holiday period, with Wednesday anticipated to be the heaviest travel day for drivers.
