Father and son duo Jerry and Zachary Pozniak have put their best dos and don'ts from decades of experience running a high-end dry cleaning business into a new book, “The Laundry Book: The Definitive Guide to Caring for Your Clothes and Linens.”

Zachary Pozniak, who gained popularity as a "laundry influencer" with more than a million followers on social media, is known for sharing laundry tips, including how to remove stubborn stains like mustard. Meanwhile, his father continues to manage Jeeves New York, a luxury dry cleaner on Madison Avenue.

“We never really expected this. Even the book was something that was presented to us,” Zachary Pozniak said during an interview on "Mornings On 1" Wednesday. “It wasn’t something we went shopping for and said, ‘We have this great idea.’ But, you know, we’re just trying to lend a hand. And, you know, Jerry's cleaned over a million garments, so we have a lot of experience, and I kind of just view myself as the presenter.”

When asked about how much of the advice in the book applies to home care versus professional dry cleaning, Jerry Pozniak said that all the tips can be used at home.

“I thought of the person who’s doing laundry, using home laundry equipment and going that way. Taking all the experience that I’ve had for 40 years and distilling that in an easy-to-use guide for anyone,” he said.

Among their top laundry tips: Use no more than one to three tablespoons of detergent, wash most items in cold water and never tumble dry a stained item.
