Earlier Wednesday, Mayor Eric Adams made the “City of Yes” housing plan official, signing his signature housing proposal into law.
The City Council had passed the legislation earlier this month.
It is expected to create about 80,000 new residences over the next 15 years, to address the growing housing shortage.
But before the plan was approved, there were some modifications made during negotiations between lawmakers and the Adams administration.
Some of those changes included exemptions for low-density neighborhoods from building higher. It’s just one of the changes that my next guest has been critical of.
Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Wednesday to discuss more.
