There are six proposals on the back of this year’s ballot that New Yorkers can weigh in on.
The first proposal would expand protections for reproductive health care and more in the State Constitution, while the other five would make changes to the city charter.
Lawmakers and some advocates have pushed back against the last five proposals and are urging New Yorkers to vote “no.”
The proposals were created when Mayor Eric Adams convened the city’s Charter Revision Commission, effectively blocking the City Council’s proposals from the ballot.
Last week, City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams introduced a bill to launch her own Charter Revision Commission, potentially establishing another showdown between the two sides of City Hall.
The council speaker joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Wednesday to discuss more.
Early voting continues through Nov. 3. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5.
