Earlier this week, the MTA announced a $68.4 billion capital plan that maps out critical needs over the next five years.

The plan includes upgrades to nearly century-old subway signal systems, purchasing new train cars, combating fare-evasion and creating more accessible stations.

The announcement comes a few months after Gov. Kathy Hochul paused congestion pricing, which has left a $16.5 billion gap in the agency’s current capital plan.

Lisa Daglian, the executive director of the Permanent Citizens Advisory Committee to the MTA and a transit rider advocate, joined NY1 political reporter Bobby Cuza to discuss more.
