Forget the North Pole — Santa’s workshop has a surprising location this holiday season: Long Island City.
Not many people know about Santa’s secret workshop in Queens. Actor and Queens native Carl Hendrick Louis didn’t either — at least, not at first.
“Not until I became one of his helpers. Once I became one of his helpers, I learned and discovered that Santa has a secret location here in Long Island City,” Louis said.
What You Need To Know
- Santa's Secret Workshop is an immersive, personalized visit to Santa Claus for kids and families in Long Island City, Queens
- It was founded by actor Carl Hendrick Louis
- Packages include a 25-minute visit with Santa for up to seven people, plus eight holiday photos
Santa’s workshop welcomes families from across the five boroughs and beyond for a festive experience with the man in red.
“It is a 25-minute session, you get to have up to seven people, so it’s great for immediate family but also for grandparents, siblings and friends, and you get a total of eight photos which is included in the package,” Louis said.
The experience is billed as a hassle-free way to meet Jolly Old Saint Nick, offering families a more personal interaction with the man in red.
For Louis, a father of two, playing a part in the magic is a rewarding experience.
“It’s really, really beautiful to see, one just how the kids are so elated by the time Santa appears, but what is also special is seeing the parents because that was really important to me — to create a space where the kids have a great time, but also the parents have a good time and feel relaxed,” he said.
