Amid federal and state investigations into his fundraising activities, Mayor Bill de Blasio is defending his actions once again, calling them legal and appropriate.
In a radio interview on Hot 97, the mayor argued he has done nothing different from what other politicians have done in the past.
"Why is it ok for some people to play by the existing laws and rules, including my predecessors as mayor, but when we do it, it comes under this kind of attack?" the mayor asked. "I think there's a real concern there there's a double standard being held."
An investigation by the state Board of Elections found the mayor's team violated campaign finance laws when raising money for Democratic candidates for the state Senate in 2014.
The mayor's other fundraising activities are under investigation as well.
The mayor also laughed off the dig President Obama made against him at the White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday.
The President took aim at the racially-charged joke de Blasio made with Hillary Clinton at the Inner Circle dinner in the city.
The mayor has argued his joke about quote "Colored People Time" was satire.
