Army To Review Anthrax Security
August 09, 2008

The U.S. Army is creating a team to review security measures at a research lab linked to the anthrax mailings, whose victims included a Bronx woman.

At least a dozen military and medical experts will be involved.

They will look at safety procedures, quality controls, and other policies of the lab at Fort Detrick, Md.

The lab is where Army scientist Bruce Ivins worked on developing anthrax vaccines and cures.

Ivins committed suicide last week as prosecutors were about to bring charges against him in connection with the mailings.

The attacks killed five people total.
