Fashion Week returns to the runways at Bryant Park on Thursday, but if you'd rather have a designer dress your palate, turn your heels towards Armani Ristorante. NY1's Shazia Khan filed the following report.

Perched on the third floor of his Midtown flagship store on Fifth Avenue, Georgio Armani's northern Italian restaurant offers a seafood centric menu in what Zagat calls a runway ready space.

Roberto Deiaco, by way of the Rainbow Room, is the new executive chef at Armani Ristorante. He carries out a menu designed by one of Armani's favorite Tuscan chefs, Lorenzo Viani, who owns a restaurant near the iconic designer's summer home.

"Mr. Armani has a summer home in Forte dei Mani which is a small little town in the coast of Tuscany and he spends a lot of time at the Ristorante de Lorenzo so he wanted to bring the same concept over here to Fifth Avenue and offer New Yorkers and everyone else the same experience he has over there," Deiaco said.

Among the offerings at the restaurant is Bavette Sul Pesce.

"The dish is a pasta dish made with a beautiful langoustine, some red mullet, some fresh calamari, some calms and some shrimps and basically the pasta is cooked in its own juice, it's not cooked in water, in the shellfish juice," Deiaco said.

Zagat says the experience at Armani Ristorante is clearly intended for the luxury market, even if the high price tags aren't exactly fashionable in the current economic climate.

The average price of a dinner entree is $28 but Monday through Friday, the restaurant offers a three-course pre fixe dinner for only $40. The rotating menu features Armani's favorite selections including a ravioli dish featuring ricotta topped with seasonal truffle and a zucchini sauce.

Armani Ristorante is open for lunch , dinner and weekend brunch. It has yet to be rated.
