A 22-year-old man was killed after getting hit by an Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus in Manhattan Wednesday.

Police say the MTA bus was traveling westbound on West 53rd Street and was making a left turn onto Ninth Avenue around 8:40 a.m. when it hit the man.

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

People who work in the area say it is a very dangerous intersection.

Police were still investigating the accident late Wednesday.
