A counselor in the Department of Juvenile Justice was arrested Tuesday on charges of sexually abusing three girls in his custody.
Tony Simmons, 45, from the Bronx is charged with multiple counts of rape, sexual abuse and criminal sex acts.
The Department of Investigation says the incidents happened at Manhattan Family Court.
The DOI began investigating in July after a 15-year-old said Simmons engaged in sexual acts with her.
Investigators then discovered two other teens who said Simmons abused them in 2005.
Simmons faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
The Department of Juvenile Justice says it suspended Simmons when the allegations surfaced, and calls a counselor's exploitation of minors in custody a heinous abuse of public trust.
