The mother of a Brooklyn man convicted of murder reportedly went to extreme lengths to try and prove her son was wrongly convicted.

Doreen Giuliano's son John Giuca was convicted three years ago, along with Anthony Russo, in the 2003 killing of Fairfield University student Mark Fisher, shown above.

The New York Times reports that Giuliano, 46, assumed a new identity as a 30-year-old to get close to Jason Allo, one of the jurors in her son's trial.

After meeting Allo last October, the Times says Giuliano spent three months recording their conversations.

Giuliano says Allo admitted knowing people on the witness list and guiding the other jurors to a guilty verdict, despite conceding he never should have been on the jury.

She is now using those conversations in a request to overturn her son's conviction, which is expected to be filed next week.

Allo told the Times he had no idea the woman was Giuca's mother, and denies many of her claims.

Mark Fisher was found beaten and shot five times near Giuca's Brooklyn home after a night of drinking in Manhattan.

Prosecutors said Giuca either joined Russo in killing Fisher or ordered him to do it himself.
