A city police officer accused of sodomizing a man in a Brooklyn subway station is proclaiming his innocence.
An attorney for Officer Richard Kern confirmed Saturday that his client says he did nothing wrong while arresting Michael Mineo, pictured above, on October 15 at the Prospect Park subway station.
Mineo accused Kern and several other officers of beating and sodomizing him with a police radio antenna.
The NYPD has said witness accounts do not support Mineo's claims.
But a law enforcement source tells the Associated Press that a transit officer told a grand jury he saw Kern wielding a baton and placing it near Mineo's buttocks.
The grand jury is expected to decide within the next two weeks whether Kern and the other officers will face criminal charges stemming from the incident.
The officers in question were placed on desk duty several weeks after the encounter.
