Eight witnesses were subpoenaed Wednesday in the case of a Brooklyn man who was allegedly attacked by police officers in a subway station.
The witnesses will testify in front of a grand jury.
Michael Mineo, 24, said four police officers beat and sodomized him with a police radio antenna at the Prospect Park station on October 15.
The NYPD continues to deny Mineo's claims.
"We have conflicting statements here, we have witnesses that say things that are a significant difference from what the complainant says, and this is the way to proceed,” said Police Commissioner Ray Kelly Wednesday. “As far as the status of the officers, they are still on full duty."
Mineo's lawyer said he expects more witnesses to be summoned to testify.
