Chicago, Illinois beat out New York City for the title of America's Most Stressful City, according to
Forbes.com.
Forbes examined the quality of life in the country's 40 largest cities and determined Chicago's high unemployment rates, expensive gas, and poor air quality make it the most exasperating place to live.
New York was cited for its lack of affordable housing, dense population, and the anxiety over the current problems on Wall Street.
Rounding out the top five are Detroit, Michigan; Los Angeles, California; and San Francisco, California.
