Thousands rallied against violence in Harlem Wednesday in response to a string of shootings that sent several teens to the hospital.

Families come together for the 14th Annual Harlem Children's Zone Children's March for Peace.

"People think these kids are all violent, and they’re all out fighting and shooting. Most of our children want to grow up in a peaceful community where they can live their lives and become successful adults,” said Geoffrey Canada, president of Harlem Children’s Zone. “That's what you see around you."

"Together we march through the streets of Harlem and let everybody know that we don't want violence,” said one child demonstrator. “We want everyone to be unified and just be together as one."

"Stop violence and keep the peace," said another.

Six teenagers were sent to the hospital after police say gunfire went off in a crowd Monday night.

Two others were shot in separate incidents.

Police were searching Wednesday night for the shooters.
