A veterans group gathered in Manhattan Saturday to denounce last week's bombing of the military recruiting center in Times Square.
Members of the group Gathering of Eagles rallied in front of the center Saturday, calling for the person who set off the explosion to surrender.
Police released a surveillance video Thursday of a man on a bicycle riding up to the center moments before the blast. No one was hurt and damage was minimal, but the demonstrators are calling the bombing an act of terrorism.
"No matter what your politics are with the war or the president, there are a million venues to express yourself all within your constitutional rights," said Jennifer Booth of Gathering of Eagles. "You do not have the right to blow things up to make a statement."
"These recruiters, many of them are our veterans, Iraq and Afghanistan. They've been to war. They don't need war brought home to the streets of New York," said Gathering of Eagles Coordinator Dan Maloney.
Police also
released a photo of the man they believe was responsible, riding eastbound on 38th Street shortly after the blast.
Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. A $12,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to an arrest.
